iVentiv's Leading in Learning, Executive Knowledge Exchange took place in San Francisco on the 5th-6th December 2011.  With a fantastic group of Learning Leaders from companies such as Nike, Qualcomm, NetApp, IBM, Hitachi, Best Buy, Gap and Toyota this session was perfectly placed to look at the future role of Learning Leader.

The session opened with a collaborative discussion on the key challenges and opportunities laying ahead for the CLO.  We quickly outlined the key synergies in the room and identified some topics for further attention during the collaborative cafe later in the day.  The CLO at Nike then took us through an exceptional 'learning brand' case study.  Further collaborative discussions followed with a look at the Millennial leader and global L&D practices.

Day one closed off with the SVP Innovation & Leadership at Best Buy hosting a lively discussion around the topic of innovation, our interpretations of this field and ways in which innovation can be cultivated.

After a lively networking evening we started day two with a look at the evolution of technology in learning with CERTPOINT's long-standing Chairman, Constantin Ohanian.  Following this the VP of NetApp's corporate university demonstrated an excellent learning tool which effectively bridged the gap between L&D and performance support.  Some discussions on the 70/20/10 model were followed by Unlearning Guru Jay Cross of the Internet Time Alliance.  Jay took us on and interesting journey through changes in the world, 'Unmanagement' and 'unbooks' before event Chairman Charles Jennings wrapped things up.

It was great to bring iVentiv's unique model to the West Coast and we really look forward to being back next year for another excellent exchange.
